Map View

The VIP platform provides flexible map viewing options.

Map View Options

The platform offers two primary map view options:

  • Standard Map (Default): A clean, simplified cartographic representation with essential geographic features like roads, borders, and place names
  • Satellite: High-resolution aerial imagery showing the actual physical environment

Choosing the right map view

Switching Between Views

To change the map view:

  1. Locate the view selector in the bottom-right corner of the map interface
  2. Click on "Satellite" to switch to satellite imagery
  3. Click again to return to the standard map view

Additional Map Controls

The map interface includes several useful controls to enhance your viewing experience:

  • Zoom Controls: Use the "+" and "-" buttons in the bottom-right corner to zoom in and out
  • Search Bar: Enter place names, addresses, or points of interest in the search bar at the top of the screen
  • Map Panning: Click and drag anywhere on the map to navigate to different areas
  • Scale Bar: Located at the bottom of the map, this shows the current scale for distance reference
  • Attribution: Map data sources are credited at the bottom of the screen

Map Data Sources

The VIP platform uses high-quality map data from Mapbox and OpenStreetMap, ensuring accurate and up-to-date geographic information. Users can see the attribution at the bottom of the map and even access options to improve the map data if needed.
